Free Car Seats

The Geary County SafeKids organization currently has child passenger seats available for families who show financial need. Please bring a statement of income, the child the seat is for, and the vehicle the seat will be in most of the time. A certified technician will help make sure that the child fits the seat and the seat fits the car. Free Car Seat Inspections

Currently there are two child passenger seat technicians on staff who can check your child’s car seat to make sure that it fits your child and is installed in your car correctly. Kansas requires that children under 4’9” be restrained in a child passenger seat. We can verify that you are in compliance with the law.

In addition, many people do not realize that their child passenger seat has been recalled or has expired. We would be delighted to check your seat to make sure that it is still considered safe by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
